New Call for Women Artists: "Who Does She Think She Is?

Call for Submissions 
Who Does She Think She Is?:  An Exhibition By Women Artists



WHO may submit art? Women Artists.

WHAT is the theme? That which empowers women to create.


WHERE is the exhibition space? The Higher Education Center, 1st Floor, Rogue Community College, Riverside Campus, Medford, Oregon.


WHEN is the reception? July 30th 2010, to coincide with "Who Does She Think She Is?", a film exploring mothering and creativity, partnering and independence, economics and art. A panel discussion will follow.

HOW MUCH is the submission fee? FREE (Sales Commission is 25%)


SUBMISSION CRITERIA:

Send 1 - 10 images (JPEG or PDF) of 2-D art (maximum height 5'), and 3-D art (maximum height 2') to Cynthia Gott at cgott@roguecc.edu by June 7th.

Include name, title, medium, size and price (or NFS) for each work.
Participants will be alerted by June 9th.

 
2-D art must be framed (except paintings with finished edges) & exhibition-ready (eye-hooks & hanging wire assembled) when artwork is delivered.

 
Artwork must be delivered to RCC on June 11th between 9-1, unless previous arrangements have been made with Cynthia. More specifics to follow.

~ 1 - 3 image submissions per artist - any medium. Work must speak to the theme of The Dark Night of the
Soul.

~ Talent Art Gallery will take a reduced commission on sales for this show and there will be a $25 - $50
sliding scale fee per exhibiting artist.

During the months of September, October and November 2009, Betsy Lewis Art Event Productions and Talent Art Gallery are assembling Rogue Valley visual artists, poets and experts in the field to take part in a fall series of art events exploring the "Dark Night of the Soul" and its role in healing and transforming human lives.

"The Dark Night of the Soul" was coined by the 16th-century Christian mystic, St. John of the Cross, who used it to describe spiritual crises. Now it has come to describe psychological ones as well which - once live through - can lead to better health, well-being and authenticity in one's life
